A: What tools do you use to stay up to date on regulatory information for your raw materials?
This week’s Community Forum survey aims to gather insights on the tools used to stay updated on regulatory information for raw materials. We are particularly interested in identifying tools that help chemists access the most current regulatory information in a single database, ensuring they avoid using specific additives if their hazard classifications have changed.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts in this week’s Community Forum survey!
This is designed to be a quick benchmark to be shared with IRI members only. IRI will collate all responses and maintain its confidentiality and results will be sent to all IRI members in aggregate form on Friday.
Beginning in August, look for the Community Forum in IRI’s weekly Innovation Edge newsletter!
Their responses are below.

Have you identified any tools that can feed chemists up to date regulatory information about raw materials? If so, what are they?
- Chemical Watch, now owned by Enhesa
- We use 3E Exchange (formerly ToxNot) – https://exchange.3eco.com/
- No, still use the public databases such as Prop65, Living Building Challenge, Chemicals of Concern, Wellness
If your organization has been using this tool, do you have any feedback on it?
- Not the cheapest, but worth it. Great articles and search capabilities.
- It really help understand what is in our products and analytical allow us to identify if products or their component contain certain chemicals. The 3E product is a material database to which you can upload SDS. The system will pull the CASRN from the pdf files. Allows you to store all ingredient documentation in on place.
