A: How can we put on an effective hybrid poster session?

Please find below the responses to this week’s IRI Community Forum Survey. Thank you to those who took the time to add their input!

We are planning a hybrid poster session to get our global teams collaborating more effectively and better aligned. We would love to hear your thoughts on how we can make this as effective as possible.

Other:

  • Scheduled presentation of select posters using Teams Live
  • Slide decks with a limit on number of slides matching the time slot
  • Keep active interactions vs. passive; provide adequate time for the audience to pre-read/review before presentations

Other:

  • End goal is to keep presentations short, effective, concise and easy-to-follow; avoid clutter and too much info than necessary; else one would risk losing the audience

Do you have any suggestions for platforms, formats, or logistics that would help make a hybrid poster session effective and collaborative?(Open-ended)

  • I have a bias (!) of considering posters to be used largely by academia, so my suggestion is to adjust the format so that it is more outcome/benefit oriented – rather than the typical hypthothesis/test/results format.
  • “flexible camera is wished to film people, who raise and answer the questions to increase the motivation and interest of virtual attendees.
  • live video talk with in-person and virtual attendees should be considered to increase the interaction. “
  • Teams Live, Sharepoint site for event with schedule of live sessions and links to the posters available (recorded content of poster presention)
  • MS TEAMS channel to post all presentations while following org’s IP sharing & privacy policies (if external parties involved);  Avoid emailing zip files to a large audience.
