This article examines the evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI), especially generative AI, in fostering creativity across various sectors. While some scholars argue that AI lacks the intrinsic motivation necessary for true creativity, others view it as a tool that can enhance co-creative processes between humans and machines. In practical applications, AI has been integrated into fields like digital prototyping and the arts, assisting in idea generation and augmenting human creativity. This paper explores the broad adoption of AI tools, their potential to democratize creativity, and the associated challenges such as ethical implications and copyright issues. By considering AI’s impact on individual, organizational, and societal levels, we discuss the need for continuous dialogue and adaptation among scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to effectively navigate the intersections of AI, creativity, and innovation.
