What software do you use to manage operational documents?

What software solution (Documentum, Agile etc.) do you use to manage your operational documents such as manufacturing formula, mix instructions, product specifications etc.? What is the functional skill set/position that is accountable for creating and maintaining these operational documents? We use SAPs Recipe Management, Specification Management and Document Management solutions. The implementation was managed by an extensive team as a multi-year global roll-out project.

Documentum is the primary application used for managing operational documents including product information and manufacturing instructions. To a lesser extent SharePoint is also used in this capacity. The skill sets required to manage these documents are divided broadly into two groups: 1) Ownership which requires subject matter competency, and assumption of decision making rights and liability; 2) Custodianship (also called stewardship) which requires knowledge of the software for managing the information throughout its lifecycle – creation or receipt through final disposition.
