IRI Membership Continues to Expand with Eight New Members in Early 2016

ARLINGTON, VA (February 1, 2016)—As the only association serving every technological industry, the Industrial Research Institute (IRI) broadened the diversity of its membership base early this year with the addition of 2 U.S. federal labs and 6 companies. The organization now boasts of just under 200 member organizations which, together, make up a large portion of U.S. GDP.

Joining the ranks of IRI from among the U.S. federal lab system is the Department of Homeland Security’s Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA) which supports cutting-edge research to produce revolutionary changes in technologies, new capabilities and threat and risk assessments for national security. Also joining is Brookhaven National Laboratory which advances fundamental research in nuclear and particle physics to gain a deeper understanding of matter, energy, space, and time.

The 6 new companies now participating in IRI come from a cross section of industrial segments. Harley Davidson joins, bringing their expertise in automotive R&D and management, along with the Chamberlain Group who specialize in garage doors, garage door openers, and related accessories. The Technology Partnership (TTP) is a team of over 300 scientists, engineers, and business innovators, with in-depth industry expertise, working closely with their clients to turn great ideas into reality.

Baxter adds to this newcomer diversity by contributing its specialized innovative capabilities in healthcare and medical devices. The Fuchs Group is the largest independent manufacturer of specialty lubricants worldwide. And finally, EIT Raw Materials is an independent body of European-based institutions and organizations that works to bring leaders of innovation together to work on solving some of the region’s biggest challenges.
